A Friendly Bunch of Folk who Grow their Own on the Edge of Birmingham

9 December

Please be careful if you approach the site - some kind soul has dumped Asbestos roofing on the roadway today near to the gate, blocking access. As you know this is an extremely dangerous health hazard if touched/disturbed. We have reported it and hopefully it will be removed in the morning - if not, we will be on the case!! Please be careful.

As usual at this time of year, the Christmas Tree is now in the windows of the Pavilion.  Wishing all our plot-holders a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

As usual, we have had many deliveries of leaves around the site over the last few weeks. Please help yourself. We will also be getting supplies of Woodchip from Highbury Tree Surgeons over the next few months - all ready for sorting your plot out for Spring!

Wellies Café has now closed for the Winter months and will re-open in March 2016. Thank you for all your support this year, it has been a great success and shows great appreciation to Tammy and Sara's hard work.

The Ramp is now finished. Just a few minor things to do. Many thanks to all that helped with this project and gave up their time to join in with the Working Parties over the last few months. Your hard work is very much appreciated.

Lifford-Lane Allotments

After guiding and advising Lifford Lane Allotments earlier in the year, they have now set up their own Committee. We have helped them with their grant application for improvements to the site (new gates/fencing, and a Pavilion). We wish them well as they move forward. Any enquiries about their site or for plot vacancies, contact Richard on 0783779977

Visits to this website since 2007

Walkers Heath Allotments are situated on the border of Warwickshire and Worcestershire. The last allotment site to be designed by Geoff Cole in the early 1970's.  We are lucky to be in a quiet little corner surrounded by beautiful par and farmland, with country lanes nearby and wildlife constantly joining us throughout the year. Sitting on the edge of Birmingham in the suburbs of cand Kings Norton, peace and quiet is just a few steps away.

Our site is a friendly community with people from all walks of life who wave hello and stop for a natter while passing with a wheelbarrow or watering can. Retired couples, and those who fit in this enjoyable activity in between and after work and other commitments stop to swap news, tips, talk about the weather and compliment each others efforts, whether experts or beginners.

You can find us on facebook here:

We are located between Kings Norton and The Maypole in Birmingham.

From Bells Lane, turn into Druids Lane near the No. 50 bus terminus. Follow the Lane around - after the bend, take the first right into the Access road (signposted Walkers Heath Recreation Field). The gates are at the end of the short road.

B14 5QE will get you close enough to find us!
